A year of watches for WSJ. Magazine
For the past year, I have been making paper watches for WSJ. Magazine. The editors at WSJ. choose a watch for each issue, and then I re-create it in paper.
Daniel Sean Murphy holds a BFA in illustration from the School of Visual Arts. After several years of classical-based drawing and painting, Daniel decided to make sculptures as an alternative outlet of art making. He feels that his current method of working is best suited for both his love of making sculptural objects, as well as painting.
Daniel's work has varied from installing 350 hand-painted Monarch butterflies, to re-creating an entire woodpecker skeleton bone by bone (out of paper).
His work has been featured in WSJ Magazine, House & Garden, UK Glamour, and The NY Post
